The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition was held at Bella Center in Copenhagen from September 11th to 15th, 2022. The IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition is a global event for top water professionals covering the entire water cycle, bringing together more than 10,000 leading water professionals and companies convened by the International Water Association. The event features thought leaders, decision-makers, key researchers, and business representatives from within and outside the water industry, focusing on water resource solutions to shape our ideal water future. Participating countries include more than 30 countries such as the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Sweden, South Africa, Australia, the United States, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates, with nearly 150 exhibitors.
Our organization’s corporate members, ITRI, GSD, and Advantech, showcased their artificial intelligence (AI) applications for drinking water and wastewater treatment plants at the exhibition, which attracted great interest from many companies. All three companies can provide complete AI applications, but each plays an indispensable role. Simply put, comparing themselves with GSD and ITRI, Advantech focuses more on hardware, such as high-performance engineering computers that enables AI to perform complex calculations perfectly. On the other hand, GSD mainly provides user-friendly AI system application platforms allowing users easy to access. Finally, ITRI has in depth research on the accuracy and maintenance of sensors, ensuring that the imported data into AI is precise and the optimal operating model obtained by AI meets the real situation. Many companies were looking forward to applying AI to achieve the advantages mentioned above, and even a satellite leak detection company wanted to use our AI technology to analyze and predict the location of pipe breaks due to the blank period caused by the satellite leaving the leak detection area.
Through this exhibition, our organization not only brings Taiwan's water industry to the international stage but also tells the world that Taiwan's water treatment is different from traditional methods. We integrate big data, IoT, AI, and traditional water treatment units to achieve cost reduction and substantial contribution to energy conservation, carbon reduction, and climate change adaptation.
